NFCC Youth Programs
The North Fairmount Community Center’s Youth Development Program offers kids a safe place where all are valued and accepted. Our programs bring the younger members of our community together in a safe environment while engaging them in athletics and group activities such as boxing, dance, and summer camp and after-school programs.
In the program, they have opportunities to make new friends, connect with others, and develop meaningful relationships, be with adults who care about them, and take part in youth-focused programs.
Currently, NFCC offers dance classes, summer camp, and our After School Program, all of which give children a sense of connection and purpose. It is a chance to stay safe and participate in a life-changing program. It’s a place where they can interact with caring adults who strive to help them develop character traits that will enable them to make a positive impact in their world. Long term, we expect these experiences to instill in teens a lifelong value of being a positive influence in their community.
These programs not only offer a chance at exercise and activity but so much more:
- Increased self-esteem and sense of purpose
- Leadership, teamwork, and decision-making skills
- Experience serving under-resourced people in their own community
- The empowerment that comes with knowing they can make a difference
